How to convert area.
Area measures a two-dimensional surface. Because both dimensions change, length conversion factors must be squared: one foot is 12 inches, but one square foot is 144 square inches. One hectare equals 10,000 square meters.
Square meters = square feet × 0.09290304. Hectares = square meters ÷ 10,000.
