Both bars use the same scale. Your final price combines 80.00 after discount, with no tax added.

How to calculate a discounted price.
Enter the original pre-tax price and the discount percentage. For a price of 100 with 20% off, you save 20 and pay 80 before tax. Quick percentage buttons let you try common sale discounts without retyping.
Savings = original price × discount percentage ÷ 100
Price before tax = original price − savings
Add optional sales tax after the discount.
Leave Tax blank for no tax, or enter the applicable percentage. This calculator adds tax to the discounted price, not the original price. With an original price of 100, a 20% discount and 8.25% tax, the discounted price is 80, tax is 6.60, and the final price is 86.60.
Tax = discounted price × tax percentage ÷ 100
Final price = discounted price + tax
If your price already includes tax, do not add the same tax again. Sales tax and VAT treatment, coupon eligibility, fees and checkout rules depend on the store and jurisdiction. This tool uses the tax rate you enter; it does not look up local rates.
Why rounding can change the last cent.
Amounts use two decimal places. Savings are rounded first, then subtracted from the original price. Tax on that discounted amount is rounded separately and added to the total. Half-cent amounts round up. For 99.99 with 15% off and 8.25% tax, savings are 15.00, the discounted price is 84.99, tax is 7.01, and the total is 92.00.
The receipt therefore adds up exactly. A merchant may round at a different stage, combine several items, or use cash rounding. Currencies without two decimal minor units need their own rounding convention.
Compare the price tag and final total.
The bars use a shared scale. The final-price bar combines the discounted amount with a striped tax segment. Tax can make the final total higher than the original pre-tax price when the discount is small. A 100% discount makes both the discounted amount and its tax zero.
